How to design a gravel crushing line for the highway or railway construction?

As we all know, highway and railway construction always needs countless gravel stones to build their stable base. Especially for the highway, we need gravel stone in different sizes(aggregate) to make concrete on site. Because of these requests, a large amount of stone needs to be processed into different sizes, which also means we need to build a gravel crushing line to process the gravel stone. Based on the capacity request, there are usually three different types of gravel crushing lines on those highway or railway construction sites. We will present them below and show you how to design a gravel crushing line for them.

 

1. Small gravel crushing line(capacity≤150TPH)

When the expected capacity is under 150TPH, we often suggest our customers build a simple crushing line consisting of two crushing stages. We can separately choose a jaw crusher for the first crushing step and an impact crusher for the second crushing step. The reason why we choose to design such a simple crushing line is because this kind of crushing line can totally meet the capacity request while it can also help our customers save their costs.

2. Medium gravel crushing line(200TPH≤capacity≤500TPH)

When the expected capacity of the gravel crushing line is over 200TPH, we will need three crushing stages to finish this task. The most common design should be a primary jaw crusher, a secondary cone crusher, and a tertiary impact crusher. Compared to the above small gravel crushing line, we need an extra cone crusher to help us handle increased material and help increase the crushing efficiency.

3. Large gravel crushing line(capacity≥500TPH)

If the expected capacity is over 500TPH, the customer usually comes from those state-owned or holding enterprises. They need such a big gravel crushing line to support their big construction project that usually lasts for several years or even decades of years. For this type of crushing line, we need four crushing steps to realize both large output capacity and various product sizes. From the first crushing step to the quaternary crushing step, we can successively choose a jaw crusher, a standard cone crusher, a standard cone crusher, and a short-head cone crusher.

 

Ok, the above is all about how to design the crushing layout for the gravel crushing line for the highway or railway construction project. Different capacity requests for the crushing line will result in different crushing layout designs.
