How to choose the most suitable crusher machine for each crushing stage?

In the previous article, we have introduced five types of classic crushing production lines and the division design of their crushing lines. After defining the crushing stages, now we have to think about how to choose the most suitable crusher machine for each crushing stage. With the suitable crusher machine set up, the crushing production line can then work with high efficiency and good stability.


1. Primary Coarse Crushing Stage

At the primary crushing stage, the chosen crusher machine is supposed to have a big enough feeding port to take in big rocks. So, the reasonable choice should be the jaw crusher or gyratory crusher.

2. Secondary Medium Crushing Stage

After the first crushing stage, the raw material was already crushed into small sizes. So, compared to the first crushing stage, we will have more choice of crusher machines in this crushing stage. Usually, the standard cone crusher, fine jaw crusher, and impact crusher are all feasible choices.

3. Tertiary Fine Crushing Stage

During the tertiary crushing stage, the materials will be processed into several types of rocks in various sizes. After this step, the processed rocks can be directly used in construction work like road construction, house construction, railway construction, etc... At this stage, we can choose the short-head cone crusher, fine jaw crusher, or vertical shaft impact crusher.

4. Quaternary Super-fine Crushing Stage

This quaternary crushing stage is required in those sand-making and metal mine beneficiation lines. During this stage, the upstream rocks need to be processed into really small ones and even powder sometimes. Hence, we have the vertical shaft impact crusher and gyradisc cone crusher to choose from.

5. Final Grinding Stage

As we talked about in the previous article, the final grinding stage is required in those metal mines. We have to grind the materials into powder to get ready for the following beneficiation process. For this grinding stage, we can choose ball mills, tube mills, or rod mills. Among these crusher mills, the ball mill can be divided into horizontal type and vertical type, both of which are the most common types that we can see in most metal mines.
