Cone crushers are mostly used for medium and fine crushing, so they need to be connected to jaw crushers and other equipment. Generally, conveyor belts are used to transport materials from jaw crushers to cone crushers. In this process, if the configuration is not appropriate or the feeding is not appropriate, the wear of the conveyor belt will be accelerated. What should we do to prevent the conveyor belt from fast-wearing?
Precaution 1: Select the right type of conveyor belts
According to the terrain and environmental conditions, choose the right type of conveyor belt such as flat, trough, large inclination, etc. Also, the performance of the conveyor belt is closely related to the belt core material, structure, and number of layers. Finally, the selection of a covering layer is really important including covering material, surface morphology, and thickness, which must be considered according to the type of conveying material, operating conditions, and working environment. The thickness of the covering layer should be selected according to wear rate, receiving conditions, wear resistance and impact resistance of the covering layer, and operation cycle of the conveyor belt.
Precaution 2: Reduce the impact of conveyor components
The various components of conveyors are basically standard types. When ordering, products from professional manufacturers should be selected to ensure the accuracy and quality of various components. The installation of various components should be carried out according to the current installation standards and acceptance procedures for conveying equipment. Components that are easy to cause wear on conveyor belts (such as skirts, scrapers, various sweepers, etc.) should be adjusted properly during installation to reduce wear, and more attention should be paid to inspection during operation.
Precaution 3. Optimize the feeding
The task of the feeding device is to ensure that the transported materials are loaded on the belt conveyor. The service life of the conveyor belt is highly related to the structure of the feeding device. The design of the feeding device structure has the following requirements:
1. When loading materials onto the conveyor, the speed and direction of the materials should be close to the running speed and running direction of the conveyor belt;
2. The materials should be loaded on the center of the conveyor belt, and the materials are not allowed to fall outside the conveyor;
3. When transporting large pieces of materials, try to avoid the impact of the materials on the conveyor belt and minimize the feeding height;
4. The feeding amount is adjustable to maintain good passing capacity;
5. Maintain continuous feeding to ensure the continuous flow of materials on the conveyor;
Precaution 4: Reduce the impact of the material receiving
According to the survey, 70% of the damage to the conveyor belt is caused by breakdown damage and scrapers. Therefore, reducing the impact of the receiving process on the belt will greatly increase the life of the conveyor belt. Methods to reduce the impact of materials on conveyor belts include: optimizing the feeding method of materials; improving the impact resistance of conveyor belts and rollers; improving the surface performance of rollers, reducing the mass of rollers while meeting strength conditions; reducing the spacing between rollers and reducing the displacement mass of roller groups; using buffer devices with hanging springs; adding elastic connections between rollers; using multi-roller roller groups; arranging the heights of each roller group in an incompletely parallel manner; and using secondary buffers to reduce impact when necessary.
Precaution 5: Use electromechanical protection devices
According to the needs of the use conditions, select reasonable electromechanical protection devices to ensure the normal operation of the belt conveyor and increase the life of the conveyor belt. According to the equipment conditions, the conveyor should be equipped with anti-deviation devices, belt speed detection protection devices, longitudinal tear protection devices for conveyor belts, chute blockage detection devices, emergency stop devices, metal debris detection and removal devices, and broken belt protection devices.
Through the above analysis, it was found that there are five main preventive measures, namely, selecting the right conveyor belts, reducing the impact of conveyor components, optimizing the feeding, reducing the impact of the material receiving, and using electromechanical protection devices. During the actual production process, These precautions were proved to prevent the wear of conveyor belts effectively and reduce the occurrence of faults, which is not only conducive to the smooth progress of production but also can save cost investment.
